@westworth327 You dont want wheel spin on your launch! lol but good try mr biased. They had around the same times because the fiero is a v6 and prob has way better top end.
Wow. I dont think that guy launched as hard in the Fiero as the MR2. The tires spun at launch in the TOY and not in the Fiero! I know they would spin on launch cause I own a Fiero, 86 L44-M17. Somehow the 1/4 mile times are about the same although they had a faster 0-60 in the TOY. V6 BABY!!
I used to have an 1988 fiero back in 1997. I bought it at a deal for 1,500 cash, drove it for 2 years and a guy hit me and totaled it and i received a check for $2,700. I loved that car. it drove nice.

This is when Detriot was fighting back. Made for good cars.
Lets not put fingerprints on the mr2 please. Use gloves
I’ll have to visit there one day. I enjoy watching the car road tests from Motor Week, Car and Driver and, whenever possible, Motor Trend.
@Seattlecarnut cool, yeah I live right above city call, where they are putting in the new overpass
I’m afraid I missed the Renton part at first. I’m sorry. I drive through Renton alot when I take I405 to Gig Harbor, where I live on weekends.
@Seattlecarnut um, see comment below! I am in Renton now!! I used to work in the red brick building to the left on kirkland way just south of 405 as you go west down 85th under the freeway!! LOL
Where do you live now, bajabusta? I live in Kirkland’s Rose Hill area.
@Autoxdriver agreed. many people only talk about zero to sixty and quarter mile. There are tons of variables and other performance aspects that contribute to an overall package. Great point Autoxdriver.
They said the MR2 was faster on the racetrack but the Fiero would have beaten the MR2 in a race longer than a couple of laps. They admitted that the MR2′s brakes sucked and faded fast. That is a huge disadvantage on a race track. Braking performance is just as important as acceleration on a road course.
MR2 is nice.
The best: mid engines cars.
Motor Week has always been one of my favourite tv car shows.
I’m not familiar with Finn Hill.
@Seattlecarnut oh wow, I grew up on finn hill, and in Kingsgate. I moved to renton few years ago, could afford more home down here, but I still work in kirkland, totem lake!!
I live in Kirkland. I was born on Capital Hill, in Seattle.
@Seattlecarnut what part of Seattle are you in? I am in Renton.
I love the styling of both cars. I’d go for the V6 engine for the Fiero. While I like the acceleration of the supercharged MR2, the Fiero isn’t that far behind. I like the interior look. I used to own an MR2, not as nice looking as this one, but not bad, but I found it easier to get in, than get comfortable once I’m in. It’s too bad that Pontiac is no longer. The Fiero, for its short production run provided some much needed excitement for the division.
Old MR2s simply rusted away. That is why you don`t see them.
@tag1337ninja rofl
I would take the fiero, but I wouldnt mind an MR2 either. win win situation
i would bang the bitch at 10:39 i don’t care what anyone says, shes hot for an older 80′s chic for real.
